This is a "Victory" class ship which was built at the end of WW II and was a refinement of the "Liberty" class freighter which was so effective at transporting supplies to Allied forces all over the world. The Red Oak Victory is being restored in Richmond, California near the docks where she was constructed. The ship is open for touring (and contributions for restoration).
